Program Description

Bring your lunch and join Philanthropy Missouri for a virtual Family Foundation Roundtable discussion as we tackle the crucial subject of Next Gen Engagement. This program is made possible through Philanthropy Missouri's National Center for Family Philanthropy partner subscription, with the goal of enhancing best practices and relationships among our region's family foundations and donor-advised funds (DAFs).

During this two-hour dive into Next Gen Engagement, participants will watch NCFP's "Fundamentals of Family Philanthropy" pre-recorded webinar — Engaging the Next Generation — and pause to share personal experiences, ask questions, and exchange knowledge throughout. Ample time for networking and follow-up discussion will be provided at this intimate event.

The monthly Fundamentals of Family Philanthropy webinar series provides guidance on the core tenets of effective family philanthropy—from motivations and values to governance, grantmaking, and succession. Multigenerational families use a variety of techniques to engage the next generation in philanthropy. Successful participation depends on a number of considerations, including how to promote learning, empower next generation family members, and offer leadership positions. In this webinar, learn how to strategically engage the next generation in family traditions, legacy, and culture, and explore when and how to promote formal philanthropic engagement at different ages and stages in the development process.
