In the November 2024 General Election, Missouri voters will weigh in on the federal election and will determine:
- who represents in the U.S. Senate and U.S. House;
- five of six statewide Executive offices;
- 17 of 34 members of the Missouri State Senate;
- All 163 members of the Missouri State House;
- Retention of two Missouri Supreme Court Judges and ten appellete court judges (more on the history of this process);
- Six statewide ballot measures; and
- Some local school board members, local ballot measures, and select municial leaders and recalls.
These "down ballot" items directly shape the environment in which we work and live. There is no PhilMO program more important than making sure that -- if you haven't voted early or absentee -- that you review what + who will be on your ballot and head to your polling place today. You must be in line to vote by 7:00PM Central Time (as long as you are in line, you should be allowed to vote).
In addition to voting, you can encourage nonprofit community partners to participate in approrpriate voter engagement efforts -- and your funding organization may be similiarly able to engage.
If you encounter difficulty voting or observe something you are concerned about, contact your local Board of Election or reach out to the nonpartisan Missouri Voter Protection Coalition at 866-OUR-VOTE (1-866-687-8683).
Missouri election results are officially posted here.
Understanding what the election results mean for our philanthropic work will be the focus of our Election Debrief next Tuesday, November 12. Be sure you're registered to participate!
