What Funders Need to Know: A Policy Program for Grantmakers
Program Description
Gateway Center for Giving is partnering with Funders for a Just Economy (FJE) and Economic Opportunity Funders (EOF), national networks of funders working to advancing economic equity, opportunity and justice, to host a watch party and discussion about their Annual Budget and Policy Briefing.
During this event, Missouri funders will come together to view the federal budget and tax outlook presentation (recorded on February 21, 2019), during which Bob Greenstein, President of the Center on Budget Policy and Priorities, will provide an address on the key provisions in the federal budget, discuss current and upcoming budget debates and battles, and offer insights on the potential impact for struggling families and communities.
Local expert Amy Blouin, Executive Director of the Missouri Budget Project, will lead funders in a discussion by providing regional context about the implications of the federal budget on critical programs and services in Missouri.
Participants will leave this program with:
- An understanding of this year's pressing federal budget and tax issues and the impact on your state and local economies;
- An opportunity to discuss with funding peers the implications for programs serving children and families in Missouri; and
- Increased capacity to consider grantmaking strategies and opportunities for collaboration with like-minded stakeholders.
