Join your colleagues in our second-annual Philanthropy Missouri Member Book Club.
This book club convenes and connects Missouri grantmakers interested in exploring sector perspectives, with the understanding that enhanced knowledge and relationships can inform our work as grantmakers and collaborators.
On June 9, we held a brief kick-off meeting to announce our wonderful co-facilitators, Katy Keller and Treena Thompson, and agree to our objectives in reading this year's Member-nominated text: From Generosity to Justice: A New Gospel of Wealth by Darren Walker, president of the Ford Foundation.
In this text, Walker draws inspiration from philanthropists past and present to critically consider the role of the sector in the 21st century through the lens of the question: If there’s a continuum between generosity and justice, how do we push our work closer to the latter?
